Transhumanism is a word that is beginning to bubble to the top of our prophetic studies and horizon. Simply described, transhumanism is an international intellectual and cultural movement supporting the use of science and technology to improve human mental and physical characteristics and capacities—in essence, to create a “posthuman” society.

This is not a passing fad. Transhumanist programs are sponsored in institutions such as Oxford, Stanford, and Caltech. Sponsorships come from organizations such as Ford, Apple, Intel, Xerox, Sun Microsystems, and others. DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, a technical department within the U.S. Department of Defense) is also involved in transhumanist projects.
